Meet Rue
Rue provides Early Intervention Services in Anderson County.
Hello! My name’s Rue Foy, and I was born and raised near Greenville, SC. I enjoy reading, am an avid fan of scary movies and classics, and have started getting into musicals! I love music, having played violin since I was ten, and wish to learn how to play other instruments given the chance. I have two cats: Amber, my three-year-old grey torbie, and Smudge, my almost ten-year-old black kitty. I love animals of all sorts and exploring new hobbies and interests when I have the time.
Background
Education:
I have my Applied Associates in Human Services from Greenville Technical College. I then transferred to Lander University and have my Bachelor’s in Human Services with a minor in Psychology.
During college, I had the opportunity to work with at-risk youth within a community center to build resiliency and grit, developing their skills to work through hardships. Throughout school, I always found human behavior interesting and wanted to do something with it once I graduated. I discovered childhood development and my love for working with children. Early Intervention interested me since it gives me the opportunity to help them and their families get the resources they need and opportunities to practice building on skills to help their child. I also have a background in policy and legislation, focusing on advocating for disabled children and adults to be protected and work/study-from-home as needed.
